T H E ● G R E Y

“The Grey walk in the shadow of the moon and scorn those who shed their blood so long ago the memory is faded and torn. From the ashes of that battle came the wrath of The Grey who take in their enemies enemies and treat them like Kings. They are sworn to avenge the fallen and slain, those of the were’s who battled in vain against torturous weapons of the purest silver; cowards who called their brethren to fight their battle.”

H i s t o r y :

The Grey was born from the ashes of an old war that waged between the werewolves and vampires, in particular the crimson court. When the werewolves were gaining advantage and were finally managing to push through and win, they called upon their brethren which had no intention in fighting until the wolves had accidently crossed onto their lands of which some were truly sorry. It was during this fight that many questioned whether all vampires were evil, especially after an attack on a seemingly innocent group of vampires who begged for their lives. After they had lost the war, fuelled with resentment, The Grey formed. They held no hatred for the vampires who came with the silver which had been their downfall as they saw it as a protective response to the wolves being on their territory, something which they admired. Family was and is still very important to a pack. The Crimson Court got the full brunt of The Greys rage who systematically hunted down stray members of their court and murdered them rather brutally.
Their leader, Morgan Grey, was a socialist man at heart despite his anger and resentment towards the Crimson Court. During the fighting he had lost both of his sons and barely escaped with his daughter. The fighting had damaged a lot of the werewolves who before the war had questioned it, suggesting not all vampires were evil. Now, they full heartedly believe every member of the Crimson Court WAS pure evil. Those who separated themselves from the court on the other hand were seen to be ‘enlightened’ and in Morgan’s words ‘clever’. They were a sanctuary for many years for those vampires who desired to leave and escape the eye of the Crimson Court. Morgan invested heavily in his home state, taking over large companies and slowly manoeuvring himself and his new pack into the heart of the community, pushing out any Crimson Court influences. Whilst the Court would like to think they had absolute control, The Greys territory is blacked out on their map and is a safe haven for anyone wanting to get away. By the end of the 19th century The Grey had spread to two states in America and had several small bases in Canada.

T o d a y :

Not much has changed in today’s terms. The Grey are just as powerful in their founding states as they were in the past, probably due to the fact they had been there from near the beginning of America being set up. Their bases in Canada are equally as strong though on a much smaller scale. The Grey are a very sociable group and tend to have a member in near to every town in their state, if not one member then a family of them who ‘watch over’ their area of the state. They are very much involved in their community and are very friendly people. Whilst on the service this goes on, they do have a ‘secret underground’ side to the pack. During the night and full moon they take their anger and frustration out on poor members of the Crimson Court who have strayed into their territory or who have perhaps caught their attention. They’re not as pack orientated as the Defenders of Gaia but there is a sense of loyalty between them all.

G o a l s :

Take revenge on the Crimson Court for their cowardice in the Old War. Protect the pack and other members of the communities from their growing influence and genuinely be a thorn in their side.

M e t h o d s :

Killing their members when they get close to their territory, taking in those who want to escape the Crimson Court, supplying equipment and loans to those who similarly hate the Crimson Court, trying to move into a new state and spread their influence again.

H e i r a c h y ● & ● S p r e a d :

The Grey tend to be very much located in Western Civilisation but there are sections of it all over the world due to Morgan’s travelling and the wide spread scale of the war. The group is more thinly spread compared to their sister-organisation the Defenders of Gaia, but they have a much stronger influence in America than them. They have firm control over North and South Dakota with strong connections in Nabraska and Colorado. It means they are extremely close to the Defenders of Gaia’s bases as well making this a tricky part of America to navigate through for any Crimson Court member. It also acts kind of like a barrier between them and the tamer vampires who have no allegiance who base themselves in LA. It was a very tactical move by The Grey. Within each state there is a more relaxed hierarchy than their sister-organisation.

- Omega; The leader of the organisation, he or she tends to live in North Dekota in one of the larger buildings. Everyone listens to this guy’s orders without question. They’re not the typical parental figure you’d think t see at the head of such a large family but they do care deeply for their members.

- Delta; There tend to be four of these in each state who cover one area of it i.e/ North, South, East or West. They tend to keep order amongst the ranks and report directly back to the Omega using various different forms of technology.

- Trackers; These wolves have a very important job. They are the ‘hit men’ if you will. They are the ones who are purely dedicated to hunting down vampires belonging to the Crimson Court and killing them, or reporting their whereabouts to their higher-ups. They are also the body guards of the pack and tend to keep order amongst the ranks with their advanced strength.

- Breadwinners: These tend to be the wolves more dedicated to the business side of the organisation. They’re not as keen on fighting as their Trackers but they will come to the call if needed. Most of these members tend to have higher intelligence than the others or just have a flare and gift for words.

- Juveniles; These guys tend to be everyone up to the age of 18 who haven’t yet gone into work and are still in school. Occasionally you get a gifted member under this age who ends up becoming a tracker but otherwise, again this is the packs weakest link. While more business-like the werewolves of this pack are still very dedicated to family. If you want to piss of this pack, going after one of these members is probably the best way to do it.

Within the sub-divisions the hierarchy is usually the same from Delphas down.

P a c k L a w :

- Crimson Court are NOT friends; werewolves can associate with other vampires but if they caught being friends with a member from the Crimson Court they can be expelled from the group.

- Pack is family; the pack comes above everyone else, even killing vampires. The family is what differ’s werewolves from vampires and thus they hold it in high regard.

- Protect humans; humans are under werewolves protection and so it is important to keep them safe at all costs from vampires.

- Do not kill another pack member; punishment is death unless it was at the wish of the other member and their plea was heard in front of the alpha’s i.e if they are dying slow and painfully with no cure.

- Do not tell the secret of werewolves; it was designed that humans do not know of the dangers they live in for their own good. Werewolves guard their secret to their graves. If someone wishes to bring an outside into the pack they must undergo checks and get permission from the alphas.

P r o s :
You’re bloody rich. This organisation has been around a long time and has been greatly involved in the organisations of the states since the dawning of its time. That’s a lot of saved up money over the past 600 years or so! There is also always a place to hide away from the world and a sense of security in this organisation. They are also a very honourable and loyal organisation, their alliances they give sparingly but when they are given they are followed through unless something terrible happens. It’s a very modernistic idea of a werewolf pack so if you enjoy your gadgets and your comfort, this is probably the best pack to be a part of. You also don’t get murdered for speaking to a vampire, so vampire-curious werewolves may drift towards this pack.

C o n s :
You’re enemies with the most powerful vampires organisation in the world. If they find out who you are you might not be treated very fairly, if you’re allowed to live at all. Your location restricts your changing as well, it would be hard to explain away you changing in the middle of a city where there are hundreds to thousands of people living nearby who could have seen you change. You need to be in control of your emotions and be out of the city when it’s a full moon or hidden safely away.
